Modern hives are key to the success of this project. That's why a focus for your donations will be to establish a workshop, where local people will build modern beehives.
The facility will create 25 new jobs and enable an extra 4,400 women beekeepers to increase production by using modern beekeeping methods to increase production and earn a living for their families.
In a nutshell, your donations will:
- Help beekeepers to get hold of protective clothing, such as face masks and gloves.
- Build and equip a community workshop to make modern beehives for vulnerable families.
- Train beekeepers to use their new hives, process their honey, and sell their produce through a co-operative.
For a long time, people here have battled hard just to survive. But you can give them hope of a different, more positive future.
With your help, women beekeepers will get the skills, equipment and clothing they need to start producing more honey. As a result, many more women like Wubalem will be able to feed their families, send their children to school, and build a future free from poverty.
Donate now and your gift will be doubled*
* For example, if you donate £35.60 to buy one beehive, your gift will be matched. That's two beehives for women like Wubalem.
