Calling all schools

Calling all grownups

Whether you’re a mum, dad, grandparent, guardian or family friend of a little one – join the nation in letting the kids dress you up to give poverty a serious dressing down.

At home  At work  ...register for a free online fundraising pack!

Raid your wardrobe and the kids’ dressing-up boxes, then on Friday 16 June get sponsored to wear a crazy clothing combination of the kids’ choice. The more people that get dressed up – the more money will be raised to help the world’s poorest people. So get your friends and family to take part with you and look seriously silly together.

Once you’ve registered to take part, Oxfam will send you a fundraising kit – jam-packed full of fun activities for the kids, all the info you need, and a giant badge for you to wear so everyone knows that you’re taking part in Dressed By The Kids Day.

Wear your outfit at work

Why not be the one to get your whole workplace involved?

Telling your boss is job number one. Most companies are happy to support fun charity events, especially ones that involve kids. And with lots of people in on the fun, you could all make a serious difference to the lives of people living in poverty around the world.

If you're worried about your workplace being too formal, you can always give the kids outfit options that you'd feel comfortable wearing - like a selection of funny ties or silly socks - but if you ask us, the sillier the better.

Your free Fundraising Kit will include promotional posters for you to put up and let everyone know what it's all in aid of.

Ways to fundraise at home and work

The easiest way to raise money is via JustGiving where all your donations automatically come to Oxfam. You also have the option of setting up an SMS donation code so your friends and family can simply text to donate - find out how.  When you register for Dressed By The Kids Day we automatically set a page up for you - but you can just set your own one up.

Sponsorship forms and collection boxes work too! Just pick the method that suits you and your sponsors the best.

Here are some ideas about how to maximise your fundraising and make the most of the event with your friends, family and kids:

  • Social media
Share on social media that you're taking part in the day with the hashtag #dressedbythekids. You could add a link to this web page or send them to our Facebook event.
  • WhatsApp
Set up a WhatsApp group with your friends and family who are taking part. You can share some of the items in your wardrobe or fancy dress box that you might be wearing on the day.
  • Fundraising Kit
Get creative with the kids using the fun activities included in the kit.
  • Wardrobe clear-out
Why not have a wardrobe clear-out whilst sorting through your items for the day? Donate any clothes you don't wear anymore to Oxfam. Find your nearest shop here.
  • Outfit choices. Why not get the kids to put a couple of outfits together and do a poll to get your friends and family to vote for their favourite?
