Trailwalker Volunteer

Context:

Each year, throughout Trailwalker weekend approximately 100 Oxfam volunteers support Oxfam, The Gurkha Welfare Trust and The Queens Gurkha Signals.

Volunteering at Trailwalker is a completely unique experience: it's a lot of fun, a great way to meet new people or to spend time with your friends and family.

Trailwalker is a huge physical and mental challenge for those daring enough to take it on. Our fantastic team of volunteers make all the difference when the walkers are starting to feel like they can't go on.

Ideally, you will be able to volunteer from 28 July to 30 July. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the logistics of the start area in advance of participants arriving on Friday
  • Hosting registration tents
  • Answering queries
  • Stewarding at checkpoints
  • Most importantly cheering walkers in when they reach each checkpoint.

Skills and competencies:

  • Able to work with as part of a team
  • Happy to be outdoors
  • Be able to provide a high level of Customer service.
  • Ability to use initiative and learn quickly
  • Positive attitude and forward thinking
  • Ability to take in instructions
  • Happy to muck in
