Online Sales Creator (Milton Keynes)

Context:

Milton Point Hub is the Southern Flagship operation for Oxfam Online Shop and receive a high volume of quality donated stock daily. Our team work together to identify desirable items and create listings in order to offer them for sale online to a worldwide audience. Please note we offer a number of flexible roles covering sorting, hanging, photography, listing and customer care which can be built around your experience and what you want to achieve out of volunteering with Oxfam.

Being an online setting, we can offer flexible hours, but would ask a minimum of 4 hours and upwards.


Key responsibilities:

  • Identify desirable and commercial  items of clothing to be offered for sale online.
  • Using simple photography skills to visually showcase the item to the customer
  • Using clothing and retail knowledge to create accurate and appealing descriptions of items for sale.
  • Adhere to set standards and exceed in giving excellent customer service within an e-commerce setting.


Skills and competencies:

  • An interest in clothing and retail.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Competent with basic use of computers and the internet.
  • Basic photography skills.
  • Technical garment experience would be highly desirable but not essential.
  • Desire to learn or develop new skills in the field of online retail.
  • Enjoys working in a positive and social environment for a good cause.

  • Enhance commercial and technical  knowledge of clothing and fashion
  • We also gain an interesting insight into the ways in which a broad range of donated stock is recycled. Gain an insight into how Oxfam re-sells, re-uses, re-cycles donated textiles
  • Training, support and guidance from a dedicated and experienced online team.
  • This is an opportunity to help Oxfam's mission of achieving a just world without poverty.
  • Lunch expenses and reasonable local travel costs can be reimbursed in line with Oxfam's policy.
