Online Clothing Specialist (Milton Keynes)

Context:

Milton Point Hub is the Southern Flagship operation for Oxfam Online Shop and receive a high volume of quality donated stock daily. Our team work together to identify desirable items and create listings in order to offer them for sale online to a worldwide audience. Please note we offer a number of flexible roles covering sorting, hanging, photography, listing and customer care which can be built around your experience and what you want to achieve out of volunteering with Oxfam.

This specific role will involve identifying clothes and accessories to sell on our Oxfam Online shop.

Being an online setting, we can offer flexible hours, but would ask a minimum of 4 hours and upwards.


Key responsibilities:

  • Identify desirable and commercial items of clothing and accessories  to be offered for sale online.
  • Working alongside the stock processing team to select highest quality stock to offer to our worldwide Oxfam supporters.
  • Collaborating with our sales team to adjust the product selection to optimize sales online.

Skills and competencies:

  • An interest in clothing and retail.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Desire to learn or develop new skills in the field of recycling/ethical fashion.
  • Enjoy working in a positive and social environment for a good cause.

What this role can offer the volunteer:

  • Gain valuable experience within the relevant and rapidly growing online retail sector.
  • Enhance commercial and technical knowledge of clothing and fashion
  • Gain an interesting insight into the ways in which a broad range of donated stock is recycled. Gain an insight into how Oxfam re-sells, re-uses, re-cycles donated textiles
  • Training, support and guidance from a dedicated and experienced  online team.

  • Lunch expenses and reasonable local travel costs can be reimbursed in line with Oxfam's policy.
