Online Sales Volunteer (Gloucester Road)

Context:

Based in a beautiful part of London, just 2 minutes walk from Hyde Park, and close to the V&A and the Natural History Museum, the Gloucester Road Oxfam shop is one of the busiest shops in London. Our aim is to fight poverty all around the world by raising as much money as possible by selling the items, which are donated to us.

As an eBay online Sales Volunteer, you will sell different types of items online. This opportunity will allow you to get retail experience and IT skills, and be a part of a great international team fighting poverty.

You are able to offer at least one 4-hour shift a week. Shifts are 10 am- 2 pm and 2 pm- 6 pm (Monday- Saturday) and 12 pm- 5 pm (Sunday).

Key responsibilities:

  • Photograph items.
  • Upload photographs and item descriptions onto eBay.
  • Update Oxfam eBay account on a regular basis.
  • Answer buyers' enquiries on eBay.
  • Research the value of rare and collectible items.
  • Post items to buyers.
  • Create professional eBay listings to increase shop's income through online sales.

Skills and competencies:

No previous experience is needed, so don't be afraid to apply. If you are successful, full training will be given. So if you are comfortable with using eBay, want to help us to fight poverty, and consider yourself a reliable and responsible person, and then this opportunity is for you.

Preferable skills are:

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • Willingness to undertake training as and when required.
  • Knowledge of or desire to learn more about eBay online sales.

What this role can offer the volunteer:

  • Train and operate as an eBay Online Sales Volunteer.

  • This is an opportunity to help Oxfam's mission of achieving a just world without poverty.
  • Lunch costs and reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed in line with Oxfam policies.
  • References available.
  • Meet new people and make new friends.
