Visual Merchandiser (Gloucester Road)

Context:

The Gloucester Road Oxfam Shop is based in a beautiful part of London, just 2 minutes walk from Hyde Park, and close to the V&A and the Natural History Museum is one of the busiest shops in London and we receive a lot of high-quality designer items. Our aim is to fight poverty all around the world by raising as much money as possible by selling the items which are donated to us.

A Visual Merchandiser will help to create eye-catching window displays and in-store design to increase the attractiveness of our shop and improve sales. You will also use your experience to help train our existing volunteers to ensure maintenance of high standards at all times.

This opportunity will allow you to get more retail experience and be a part of a great international team fighting poverty.

You'll be able to offer at least one 4-hour shift a week. Shifts are 10 am- 2 pm and 2 pm- 6 pm (Monday- Saturday) and 12 pm- 5 pm (Sunday).


Key responsibilities:

  • Create window displays and in-store design to attract more customers.
  • Identify customer needs and change the displays accordingly.
  • Support our team in visually elevating the store aesthetic to encourage more purchasing.
  • Give visual presentation guidelines to the team.

Skills and competencies:


  • Previous experience in visual merchandising with a fashion retailer.
  • Passion for styling.
  • Ability to plan your own workload.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Flexibility in terms of working hours.
