MAT LLOYD 9pm-9.15pm

Genre

Hip-Hop/Rap, Other

Description

Elusive award winning performance poet Mat Lloyd is an angry middle finger to poetry purists. Arriving as a performance poet (in a sense) in 2005 he began performing locally and then for The Raison D’etre Collective in London. Within his first twelve months he had performed at the prestigious Jazz Cafe in Camden London, and won his first award taking home the title at Shortfuse’s Poetry Idol 7 in 2006. His poetry continues to wow audiences as he experiments with different mediums for delivery with great success, in 2009 his short poetry film collaboration “Blokes” won “Best Film” at ShortCuts Film Festival. Most recently his second collaboration with animator Mat Frodsham “Two Inches to the Right” was a huge internet success, and was recently shortlisted for a ‘Left Field Award’.

TOXINS 9.15pm-9.45pm

Genre

Indie/Rock, Punk

Description

...A band, formed in Hemel Hempstead in late 2007... we try to have a point to our music... have guitars and drums and like to make noise - and do it very very FAST. We're just getting all this anger, resulting from too much time to look around and take in the toxins whilst beholding our "Civilisation's" self-destruction, off our sweaty chests where and when we can- cos it's fun... and good exercise. Among our 'achievements' are progressing to the Battle Of The Bands final at The Horn in December 2008! We have 2 6-track EP's available for your downloading pleasure, "Beautiful Democracy" (released 2009) and brand new release "2many Humans" (released 2010). So enjoy, be provoked into a state of furious revolt, and by all means read the lyrics, we dare you!

Genre

Acoustic, Country/Bluegrass, Folk, Funk, Reggae, Rock n Roll

Description

Having started as a party-house jamming collective that has produced tons of shindig recordings since 2003, we started gigging as a 2 piece in 2008 (bob/trucker), and have gradually pulled our friends, old and new, in with an irresistible lure of goodtimes and stupidity... Now currently gigging as a 5 piece with guitars, mandolin, banjo, upright bass, drums/percussion... and even accordian...
