Oxjam Jazz fundraiser in Acton W3
Date
07/10/2011Description
Local band AMC (Acton Music collective) expect Jazz/latin / fusion /groove, at St Mary's Church right on the Market Square in Acton W3. In a scenario not unlike the story of 'The Soloist' the Tenor Sax playing Rector of St Mary's Dave Brammer discovered several talented but homeless and more or less troubled musicians literally on the doorstep. One of them is now at a prestigious music college and they discovered a new purpose playing together as AMC... tuneful jazz for everyone to enjoy. Licensed bar/Raffel/Snacks

After a childhood spent listening and learning to appreciate many different kinds of music, especially Jazz, Dave’s career as a guitarist began in his mid teens. Backing American Soul Artists (Ben E King, Arthur Conley, Percy Sledge, The Platters etc.) on tour in the UK and Europe he schlepped up and down motorways in the time-honoured fashion. He was with The Real Thing when their first No 1 hit broke (˜You To Me Are Everything’) Has A CD called 'RED HAT" ,with another one released later this year, Just gigged in OZ , going down a storm sharing his infectious groove Dave will be playing with AMC too, as well as organising the two events
