What is it like?

Imagine a room full of people, all having an amazing time, enjoying great music and feeling great because they are helping Oxfam end poverty. Now imagine you're there in the centre of it, feeling extremely proud because you made it all happen. Putting on an Oxjam gig is your chance to really make a difference while doing something you love.

Anyone can organise an Oxjam event. The important thing to remember is that small can be beautiful. The strength of the Oxjam brand, and the support we'll give you, can help you to do a bigger and better than you perhaps think you're capable of, but it'll still be a lot simpler, will raise more money and will be more fun to do if you keep it reasonably simple!

Once you've signed up to put on an Oxjam event, we'll do everything we can to help make it amazing. Our online resources and training events will give you step-by-step advice on how to picture and plan your event: from understanding your local music market, contacting artists and venues, to fundraising on the night itself. We'll send you our Toolkit, which will help you get started, and you can then download all sorts of useful materials and resources, from letters and contracts for artists and venues, to branded banners and our handy poster generator.

So start planning. Imagine yourself looking out at a crowd of screaming, happy, dancing people, and knowing that you made that happen. It's a good feeling. The fact that you'll have just made a big stack of cash to help fight poverty around the world won't hurt either.
