Congratulations

You're a life changer

A massive well done for competing in the 2011 Virgin London Marathon!

What a monumental day. It was brilliant to see so many of you and to say thank you for all of your efforts.

Not only has this experience made a huge impact on your life, but it has also changed the lives of thousands living in poverty.

Getting a high five from our cheerers along the course

Celebration

We’d just like to say a big well done for accomplishing what you have – you are truly amazing.

There was a fantastic atmosphere all over the course and it was so great to see so many runners wearing the green Oxfam vests and t-shirts.

We’ve been celebrating your achievements all week long. From our pre-race celebration at the Expo, right through to the cheering parties en-route and the Oxfam Marathon Finale reception at the British Academy.

Martin Yelling, who has been giving you advice all throughout your training, also has a message of congratulations for you:

“Wow. You are a marathon runner! What an amazing day. Whatever the outcome of your race at the Virgin London Marathon you should be proud of your personal achievement. Wear that medal with pride.”

Completing a marathon is such an achievement, and you should be really proud of what you have done – especially as you have been raising money for such great projects along the way.

You’re all heroes.

Fundraising so far

As it stands Oxfam runners have raised £440,000 – which is fantastic, and will go a long way to help put people living in poverty in charge of their own livelihoods.

And, we still have until the 30 June fundraising deadline to keep raising money for our Virgin London Marathon projects and change thousands of lives for good.

We’d love to get your feedback on how we have supported you over your marathon journey. We’ve been so proud to be the official charity of the 2011 Virgin London Marathon and have loved having our largest ever running team. It’s been great to speak with so many people throughout this period, but we’d love to know how you thought we did.
