Good news

Cotswold Outdoor are offering every registered walker 15% discount on their next purchase in a Cotswold Store. Registered walkers will receive a voucher that can be redeemed when making their next purchase. This voucher cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be used for the purchase of gift vouchers, sale items and special offers. It is valid until 31 May 2014.

Cotswold Outdoor have also kindly donated a prize for the team raising the most sponsorship.

The team that has returned the greatest amount of sponsorship per team member (that is the total sum raised by the team collectively and/or as individuals divided by the number of team members) by midnight on 30 November 2013 will be the prizewinner.

Why walk?

By taking part in the 2013 Oxfam Walk you'll help people all over the world - from Chad to Pakistan, the Middle East to Sri Lanka.

Your sponsorship money will support Oxfam's Emergency Fund, a lifesaving fund used to help people recover from natural disasters and conflict. Oxfam works in more than 30 countries to provide clean water and sanitation, health and hygiene care and security for some of the 30 million people affected by conflict or natural disasters every year. Funding such work is essential to reduce death and disease, and help communities recover from floods, famine, persecution and conflict. Oxfam makes a real difference to people's lives worldwide but we can't do it without you. £50 pledged by you could pay for a hygienic toilet, vital for preventing the spread of disease in an emergency.

Walkers are asked to raise at least £50 in sponsorship. If every walker achieves this we'll raise over £30,000 for Oxfam's humanitarian work! Here are some tips to get you started:

Set up an online fundraising page
Set up your personal Oxfam online fundraising page at - this is the quickest for you and most cost effective for Oxfam so just enter your details, how much you hope to raise, and send the link to your family and friends, and add it to the bottom of your emails. You can even add a photo and updates on your training and fundraising to brighten up your page and entice people to give.

Sponsorship form
If you prefer the old-fashioned method, you can download a sponsorship form to print and pass to your friends and family.

Matched giving
Ask the company you work for if they have a matched giving scheme. If they do, ask if they would be prepared to match the money you raise pound for pound and you could double your sponsorship! If they don't, ask them if they'd be interested in setting one up.
