Olympic Sports

Olympic Sports Challenge

Fancy having a go at some of the exciting sports that hit our screens this summer?

This Challenge offers you the chance to experience 5, 10, 20 or 30 Olympic or Paralympic sports of your choice.

Choose from 30 Olympic and Paralympic Sports on the Gold Challenge website, then use the 'Sports Finder' to find a local club, coach or event where you can learn your chosen sports between now and December 2012.

Complete your challenge by doing just three hours of coaching in each sport (or if you are already familiar with a sport, by taking part in an event).

Take the challenge as an individual or a team, or allocate the different sports between your team members!

Ask your friends and family to sponsor you to complete your training in your chosen Olympic sports, and help support people facing disaster all over the world.

Suggested fundraising target: £250 to £3,000

2012 km

For a truly 'Olympic themed' challenge, take up the challenge to cover 2,012km (or 201.2km, or 20.12km) in one or more Olympic or Paralympic sports over a set time period of your choice.

Take the challenge as an individual, or split up the distance between team members. Just keep track of how many kilometres you have covered using the totaliser on your Gold Challenge "My Page", and when you've hit your target, you can claim a reward!

Sports you can take part in:

  • Running
  • Walking
  • Cycling
  • Swimming
  • Canoeing/kayaking
  • Horseriding
  • Rowing
  • Sailing
  • Windsurfing

Ask your friends and family to sponsor you to complete your Olympic themed distance, and help support people facing disaster all over the world.

Suggested fundraising target: £2,012 or £201.20
