Public Relations Intern (Pinner)

Context:

Volunteers are an integral part of Oxfam. We have fantastic people who volunteer in our online shop, and we always need more.

The online bookshop is an important part of Oxfam's fundraising and we need volunteers to make sales efficient. A large part of your internship will take place outside the office, visiting different stakeholders. Your role will be to meet with local community groups, organisations, universities, schools, etc. recruiting volunteers and promoting OXFAM's work; the success of your meetings being measured by the recruitment of new OXFAM volunteers. Your schedule will be flexible in order to accommodate your different appointments.

Frequency: 24 hours a week. We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months.

Key responsibilities:

  • Recruiting volunteers from local communities
  • Advertising on internet and social media, and establishing new social initiatives as needed
  • Manage  and improve upon internal and external communications

Skills and competencies:

  • An enthusiasm for Oxfam's work and for helping others get involved is important
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills would help
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Be able to work on your own initiative
