Community campaigns assistant (Birmingham)


As an integral member of the community campaigns team in the Midlands, you will have a varied role, including anything from supporting our existing campaigners to researching new opportunities in the Midlands.


This internship is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop their communication and engagement skills or for someone looking to move into campaigning and volunteer management.


You will be working with the Community Campaigns Coordinator and Public Affairs Coordinator in Oxfam's Birmingham office.


You should be able to work for up to 3 days a week and commit for between 3 and 6 months.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and run community campaign events such as freshers fairs, Behind the Brands and other regional events.
  • Promote Oxfam's Constituency Campaigners programme and recruit new Constituency Campaigners.
  • Mapping and profiling local groups and events taking place across the Midlands.
  • Communicate relevant events and activities taking place to town and student campaign networks.
  • Contribute to local training events

Skills and competencies:

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in collaboration with others.
  • Passion to get involved in Oxfam's campaigns.
  • Commitment to Oxfam's campaigns.
  • Good organisational skills.
