Shop Volunteer - music department (Whitworth Park, Manchester)


The shop receives donations of all types of music including sheet music, CDs and records.  Some recordings are rare and valuable.  We are looking for someone who has an interest in music of any type who can take a role in sorting donations and maximising the sales potential in order to raise as much money as possible to support Oxfam's humanitarian work across the world.

Hours are negotiable but it would be great if you could offer a minimum of 4 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:

Sorting through music donations.

Identifying and researching valuable items (training will be given).

Pricing CD's and vinyl according to shop standards

Maintaining the music section within the sales area of the shop to create attractive displays.

Although the main role is in the music department, there will be the opportunity to do occasional till work

Skills and competencies:

An interest in music and a broad knowledge of different genres.

Able to work well with others and to relate to customers.

A desire to learn.  Training will be given.
