Oxfam depends greatly on the work of its shops for raising money to support its humanitarian work across the world. This is an opportunity for you to contribute to its work while developing retail and management skills.
The Shop Manager takes overall responsibility for the management of the shop. We are looking for someone with the ability to run the shop in her absence. Ideally you will be able to offer a minimum of 1 full day per week, preferably more, but there is flexibility to negotiate this.
Ensuring the smooth running of the shop supporting the work of the other volunteers, delegating tasks as required.
Working towards sales targets.
Completing daily paperwork and banking money in line with shop policy.
Maintaining health and safety standards.
Helping to recruiting and train new volunteers.
Running the shop in the Shop Manager's absence.
Skills and competencies:
The ability to lead and motivatea diverse team of volunteers, showing skills of delgation.
Reliability and trustworthiness.
Confidence in relating to customers.
Able to contribute new ideas in order to maximise sales and to create a positive working environment.
Basic computer literacy.
