Homewares Volunteer (Caversham)

Context:

This is a great opportunity to volunteer in a vibrant Oxfam shop, and an opportunity to help in the fight against poverty. You will work as part of a team to make sure that we are selling good quality items for the right price. You will help to display and merchandise these items. It does not matter if you are a novice or experienced with homewares, you will receive all the training and support needed for this role.

Frequency: Once or more a week, afternoon shifts: 1:00pm to 5:30pm

Key responsibilities:

  • Customer Service on shop floor
  • Possibly operating the till
  • Identify and value saleable items from donated stock
  • Price items within the shop pricing guidelines and policy
  • Merchandising and displaying stock on the shop floor
  • Recycling culled/non-saleable goods.
  • Maintaining backroom

Skills and competencies:

  • Full training given in all aspects of role
  • Responsible and organised
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently
  • An interest in homewares
