Oxfam Shops make an incredibly valuable contribution to supporting Oxfam's work of fighting poverty and injustice across the world.
The Oxfam Shop in Stanmore receives a variety of donated homeware items including antiques, china, kitchenware, glassware, pictures and much more. Customers can get unique items they won't be able to find in any other shops and we have fantastic pieces for which we have gained a local reputation. The successful applicant will work as part of a team to ensure that we sell good quality items for the right price. You will help to display and merchandise these items.
Ideally you will be able to work 1 or 2 shifts a week (4 hour shift).
Identify and value saleable items from donated stock.
Identify potential high value items for sale at auction or online.
Price items within the shop pricing guidelines and policy.
Wash, clean, and price items.
Merchandising and displaying stock on the shop floor in such a way that it stimulates interest and entices customers to make a purchase.
Skills and competencies:
Whilst experience with homeware would be an advantage, if you don't have experience you will receive all the training and support needed for this role
Have an interest in homeware and collectables
Show a willingness to learn.
Be reliable and able to work as part of a team.
The ability to work within agreed shop guidelines.
