Online Bridal Wear Volunteer (Goodramgate, York)


Since 2007, Oxfam has been selling online through its Online Shop.

Since launch, the shop has grown, and Oxfam now has several offices across the UK that sell purely online.

The role of Bridal Wear Volunteer focuses on the photography and listing of Bridal Wear & accessories online on the Oxfam Online Shop bridal pages.

Frequency: Minimum 4 hours (we are open 7 days a week). 


Key responsibilities:

  • Selecting, photographing and cataloguing donated bridal wear and related accessories.
  • Describing items via online shop listing tool and uploading information to website.
  • Researching items in order to describe accurately and achieve best price.
  • Packaging of sold items for dispatch via courier.


Skills and competencies:

  • Some knowledge of Bridal wear and/or women's clothing, or seamstress/alterations experience
  • Basic computer skills including ability to use the internet to research items.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good attention to detail.

What this role can offer the volunteer:

  • Experience in the developing e-commerce sector of the retail market.
  • Develop product knowledge of Bridal wear and clothing.
  • Make a contribution to Oxfam's work fighting poverty.
  • Local travel expenses can be reimbursed.
