Fundraising Group Events Coordinator (Lichfield)

Oxfam Fundraising Groups are teams of like-minded volunteers who are passionate about changing the world.

Our local group in Lichfield, the Lichfield Foxgloves, have been up and running for just over a year and during this time, have raised over £570 - enough money to train 18 midwives in Ghana or deliver life saving water to almost 1000 people. They have organised a tasty dining evening at Sparks Cafe and a fantastic International Women's Day Zumba celebration. And they're great at baking cakes too!

They're a lovely bunch, but they're on the lookout for a few extra people to help them organise even more events.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with a group of passionate, like-minded people in the Lichfield area.
  • Create plans for events, researching possible venues and coming up with new inspiring ideas.
  • Lead approaches to local businesses, groups and individuals to create contacts and new supporters for events. Anything from providing prizes and sponsorship to hosting events!
  • Inspire others with your passion for Oxfam's work, keeping your group at the heart of the community.
  • Be an active member of the Lichfield Fundraising Group, attending monthly meetings and supporting your fellow volunteers.
  • Getting to know the charity; we want you to love what you do, and be passionate about Oxfam. After all, your fundraising means we can help even more people worldwide!

Skills and competencies:

  • Drive and determination to make your fundraising a great success.
  • Strong organisational skills - there'll be a lot to keep track of!
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box.
