Clothing and accessories assistant (Highgate)


Oxfam Highgate shop is in the heart of the beautiful Highgate, near many touristic attractions and from where you can admire the fine panorama of the City. The shop is a vibrant environment with a multicultural team proud of its success.

Our shop has a big clothing section and we need help to keep our sales up.

Ideally you should be able to offer at least 8 hours a week.

Shifts: 10am-2pm and/or 1:30 pm-5:30pm, Mon-Sun.

Key responsibilities:

  • Sorting through donated items
  • Valuing stock appropriately
  • Researching valuable items
  • Merchandising and updating shop displays
  • Maintaining levels of stock in retail area
  • Ensuring standards of quality are adhered to
  • Working as part of a team
  • Exploring new ways of sourcing donations
  • Researching current trends in fashion
  • Assisting manager in preparing window displays

Skills and competencies:

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills
  • Trustworthy and reliable as role will involve handling cash
  • Computer literacy would be a bonus
  • In-depth knowledge of clothing is not necessary as guidance is provided
