Online shop assistant (Highgate)


Oxfam Highgate shop is in the heart of the beautiful Highgate, near many touristic attractions and from where you can admire the fine panorama of the City. The shop is a vibrant environment with a multicultural team, proud of its success.

Our shop has developed an online platform; it has a facebook presence an ebay account and an online shop. This allows the shop to increase revenue from sales in line with other shop sale strategy.

Ideally you will offer a minimum of 8 hrs per week. Working pattern to be agreed with the shop manager (eg: 2x4 hour days).

Key responsibilities:

  • Update the Facebook  page.
  • Frequently check and listing on the online shop and ebay
  • Write description, reference, take pictures and advertise items for sale on the online shop and ebay and for our Facebook page.
  • Be creative to market the shop and our products.
  • Take and upload product photos on our sites.
  • Work within a diverse team and within Oxfam values and ethics.

Skills and competencies:

  • Internet skills are essential.
  • Have an eye for detail.
  • Ability to plan and organise work.
  • Be creative.
  • Willing to do and to learn about e-marketing.
  • Be able to work independently.
  • Have an interest for e-commerce and photography (essential).

  • Experience on online marketing.
  • Basic IT training on how to use an online shop system.
  • Retail skills.
