Shop cashier (West Street, Tavistock)


This is a good opportunity to volunteer in a well-merchandised store and gives the applicant the chance to make a great impression as they are the first point of call for customers.  We are particularly looking for someone who is proactive, able to multi-task and most of all, work within a diverse team.

Hours can be flexible but ideally you should be able to offer at least one 4-hour shift per week.

Key responsibilities:

Serving customers on the till.

Merchandising and tidying the shop floor.

Answering customer queries.

Answering the telephone.

Carrying out financial procedures related to the till.

Skills and competencies:

An interest in customer service and the products that Oxfam offers.

Reliability and the ability to work as part of a diverse team.

Ability to work within agreed shop guidelines.

Willingness to learn all about Oxfam's ways of working.

Appropriate training in financial processes will be given.
