Health and safety volunteer (Cambridge)

Context:

We need a 'fresh pair of eyes' to double check that our shop team is completely safe.

The role is based in the Oxfam Bookshop in Cambridge. 

Hours can be flexible between 09.30-17.30 daily, including weekends. Ideally you will be able to offer between 4-8 hours a week.

Key responsibilities:

An ability on a daily basis to ensure health and safety policy is adhered to.

Carrying out scheduled health and safety assessments.

 

Providing support and guidance to the shop team on health and safety requirements and best practice, in line with Oxfam procedures

Skills and competencies:

 

To be systematic and methodical with a good eye for detail

Previous experience of occupational health and safety issues (ideally) or a willingness to learn.

Ability to carry out health and safety checks and complete appropriate paperwork.

Identify and resolve any issues that arise.

Able to work in a diverse team
