Shop cashier (Cambridge)


We need help at the till and to assist customers. The role is based in the Oxfam Bookshop in Cambridge.  We need help at the till and to assist customers.

Hours can be flexible between 09.30-17.30 daily, including weekends. Ideally you will be able to offer between 4-8 hours a week.

Key responsibilities:

Operating the till to sell donated items and ensuring money is secure

Assisting customers with enquires

Receiving donations

Signing donors up to Gift Aid

Potential to learn banking/cashing up

Skills and competencies:

Good customer service or willingness to learn

Confidence in handling money or willingness to be trained

Able to keep calm under pressure

Attention to detail and good with numbers

Able to work in a diverse team

What this role can offer the volunteer:

Ability to see your  volunteer skills translate into money raised for Oxfam

Good understanding of basic retail principles

Training and support

Travel expenses will be reimbursed so you will not be out of pocket whilst volunteering for Oxfam
