About Us

Oxfam Books and Music shop in Bedford town centre offers a wide selection of books, maps, music, stamps and collectables.

We stock a wide range of books from modern paperback fiction, classic literature and non-fiction including military history, cookery, religion, academic, transport, gardening, art, children's and local interest books.

We have modern pop, rock and contemporary music and a large selection of classical vinyl, CDs and sheet music.

We recycle damaged books that cannot be sold and use book covers and illustrations to make a unique range of handmade cards.

We can arrange to collect large quantities of books and music from donors located in Bedford.

Opening times

We are open 9.15am - 5.15pm Monday to Saturday.

Donate items to us

Oxfam shops are always delighted to accept donations of quality undamaged items that you no longer want. Our shop teams are trained to make as much money as possible from your generosity to fund Oxfam's poverty busting work around the world. Items that sell particularly well are current fashion trends, quality paperback fiction and all accessories. And Oxfam is unique in that any textiles that are not sold via our shops are sent to our Wastesaver recycling plant to ensure we make as much money as possible from your generosity.

We rely on the generosity of people like yourself to keep our shops brimming with quality items. If you have a large donation of heavy goods for our shop, such as records or books we might be able to arrange a collection so please feel free to call us.

There are some items that we cannot sell:
- Electrical goods
- Damaged or broken items
- Safety items like crash helmets and children's car seats

In fact it costs Oxfam money to dispose of these items.
