What to expect
"Created in 2004, Bestival won ‘Best Small Festival’ in the UK Festival Awards in its first year."
Jen Martin, Volunteer Steward
Not only is Bestival the world’s largest fancy dress party, it also fills a gap between large scale corporate festivals and the smaller, specialized events. Created in 2004, Bestival won ‘Best Small Festival’ in the UK Festival Awards in its first year. Hosted at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight, the beautiful (and hilly!) site features a mix of woodland, water and open fields. Aside from the music, you’ll also find comedy, great food, the WI with their homemade cakes and a toboggan run!
The festival has grown to cater for around 30,000 partygoers and continues to win awards as it develops – while maintaining a boutique atmosphere by offering lots of small venues in addition to the “main stage”. Headliners are well known names and tend to be more mainstream than the bulk of the line-up. The eclectic mix of artists has a strong bias towards dance, which draws a more, although not exclusively, adult crowd than its family-orientated sister fest, Camp Bestival in Dorset.
If you like to listen to eclectic music, in beautiful surroundings, with great company and tropical weather, make sure you join us at Bestival this summer!
