What to expect

"The focus of the festival is on the kids, but when the sun goes down the adults come out to party"

Caroline Sinclair, Camp Bestival Volunteer Steward

Camp Bestival, described as ‘frolicsome family fun’, won the Family Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards 2009, as well as scooping the Best New Festival in 2008, its first year.

The festival by the sea, in the stunning grounds of Lulworth Castle in Dorset, is popular with kids of all sizes. With a diverse list of musical acts, alongside an animal farm, jousting, fancy dress and theatre in the woods, there is something to keep everyone happy.

The focus of the festival is on the kids with the immense Kids’ Garden dedicated to their entertainment, but when the sun goes down, the adults come out to party in the Silent Disco and Bollywood Tent, enjoy theatre and cabaret performances or late night dancing in the Black Dahlia.

If you fancy a festival by the sea with a holiday camp feel, this one is definitely for you!

Caroline Sinclair, Oxfam volunteer steward
