Helen Mirren (DBE, Actress)

'In my travels with Oxfam […] I’ve met some amazing women who are coping with levels of violence, tragedy, poverty and injustice that are simply unimaginable to most people. Despite the devastating hardship many women face in their daily lives, they are so often the lynchpin of the family and the heart of their community.'

Brix Smith-Start (American singer and television presenter)

'I am supporting the campaign because I have a vested interest. Anything I can do to support or give back or give positive energy on any women's cause I am glad to do. It's something very close to my heart.'

Miquita Oliver(Television and radio presenter)

'I had the honour of hosting the Women Of The World concert for the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day last year. Since then I've travelled to Senegal with Oxfam and met some incredible women. It is such a great cause with so much positivity behind it. My Get-together is going to be an intense all female quiz night in my house.'

Jane Shepherdson (CEO of Whistles)

'I am supporting Oxfam's Get-together campaign for International Women's Day because I'm a woman, I am a feminist and I feel it is really important that women support each other and fight for equality around the world. And to do it as a group of female friends seems the best way to support it. My get-together will be a photo-swapping party with the friends I made when I travelled to Zambia with Oxfam.'
