Regular visitors to Oxfam's website might recall that back in December we launched an online action to coincide with World AIDS Day.

The action was calling for the UK Government to honour its promises to fight AIDS.

With the right drugs and access to healthcare, AIDS is preventable and treatable, but, as things stand, world leaders are way off track - barely 1 in 4 people receive the drugs they need to survive and just 1 in 5 have access to basic prevention services.

Almost 9,000 of you signed up on Oxfam's website. When this number was added to the signatures from other members of the Stop AIDS coalition, it came to a grand total of 25,000 people who had sent a message to the Government.

With the numbers counted, on 11 March, it was time to make a trip to Number 10 for a big hand-in, and knowing that the Government need to get their act together, Stop AIDS decided they'd go for a hand-in with a difference.

To stir things up, Stop AIDS campaigners dressed in red t-shirts, waved red balloons, hooted air-horns, and held a huge banner which read "keep the promise".

The result? A wake up call to the Government that was so loud it could be heard all the way to Trafalgar Square.
