Act now to save lives in D.R.Congo

DRC Time is running out action Credit: Oxfam

Campaigners from Oxfam, Amnesty and "Save the Congo" joined together to highlight the dire situation of over 5.4 million people who are caught in the crossfire of renewed fighting.

As Big Ben chimed noon, our campaigners huddled around a six-foot clock to highlight that time is running out for millions of people in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and demanding that Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, urgently get more peacekeepers to provide protection to the civilian population.

There was lots of bustle and noise, as journalists, TV cameras and photographers jostled to get snaps and footage of the people huddled around the giant clock, but more importantly, the Prime Minister couldn't miss us as he raced off for his weekly questions in the commons.

If you haven't sent your message to Prime Minsiter Brown, you can do so now and if you have, please ask your friends and family to join you in taking the action. By spreading the message on your email and social networking groups.
