Oxfam Cymru ensured that the wishes of the people of Wales were heard loud and clear at the UN Climate Summit currently taking place at Copenhagen.
The Stop Climate Chaos Cymru coalition, of which Oxfam Cymru is a member, took an 18 foot blue dragon called Dai to represent the wishes of the Welsh people and the Welsh Assembly for a fair, ambitious and binding deal to be agreed at the summit.
Dai's journey began in mid Wales, where he was created by the arts project CARAD at three community workshops. He then travelled to Cardiff where he was greeted by Assembly Members, including Welsh environment minister Jane Davidson.

In November the Assembly resolved, without opposition, to support calls for rich countries to cut their greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2020 - in line with what is needed to keep climate change below dangerous levels.
Dai joined fifty thousand people from all over England and Wales on 5 December in encircling Parliament and calling on the UK Government to take a lead in cutting emissions and providing funding to the poorest countries in the world to adapt to climate change.

On 11 December Dai arrived in Copenhagen accompanied by Oxfam Cymru campaigners to march the four miles from the Danish Parliament to the centre hosting the UN Conference.

As around one hundred thousand people flooded the streets of the Danish capital the blue dragon was admired by demonstrators, police and politicians calling on rich countries to stop delaying on agreeing the action needed to reach a groundbreaking deal.
