Still looking for the right job as time flies

18 May 2009

SallyHi, I'm back again - where are the weeks going? Time seems to be flying by; we are already nearly halfway through the year! Ok, well I went on a school trip to a farm yesterday with my youngest. We had a great day and she wanted to bring home the 'little horse'; she said that he could sleep with her, as he was so small!

After a good sleep, I am now recovered. I take my hat off to teachers as it was exhausting, but then again some of it was my own fault, as I was running around like a child myself - pretending to be a monster on the ship in the play area, and rescuing the princesses of the rope bridge!

Lone deal meeting

I have contacted my lone deal adviser, and I have a meeting next week. My role as governor at my girls' school, and my voluntary work at SPAN (Single Parent Action Network) are keeping me busy for the moment, but I think I want to do something new...

I have not seen anything job-wise that's interesting to me, but there have been a few jobs that I could do, and one or two I have thought about! Those were providing temporary/maternity cover for six months, but in the end I decided against, as I would like something a bit more long term/permanent.

Birthdays and babysitting

I have been ringing around my family to get a babysitter, as it's my birthday in a few weeks. I had to cancel last year's get-together, as two of the children went down with a stomach bug. It's difficult to get a sitter and everyone together as it's on a bank holiday weekend and coincides with half term; most of my folks go away, but one of my brothers has kindly volunteered his services.
