Oxfam *loves* lovefoodhatewaste!

So, we were just thinking about how old carrots (that aren't even wrinkly yet) must feel as they're plunged into the darkness of a big black bin bag, when we came across this amazing website, Lovefoodhatewaste.com. It's packed with ideas that'll help us to use up leftovers, keep food fresh, and not cook too much in the first place. And that'll help to keep our bellies and bank accounts (but not binbags) full - fab.

Great tip, we give birds the bread and Olive Oil-soaked bits especially in Winter but great to know they also love pastry.

save all the top slices of loaves ie; sliced bread in freezer, when you have about 20 slices make a bread pudding, cheap filler in lunch boxes.

you can get rid of excess food thats old just by putting it in the garden for the birds. we have all forgotten that birds like pulses, rice, pasta, cheese and cake especially pastry! I put nealy everything i have left over outside for them everything except meat waste.
