Ethical party time

11 December 2008

Party time is here! Us Oxfam lot like a little boogie balloon bop, some festive nibbly bits, and a good sing-along as much as the rest. Only problem is that over 3 million tonnes of rubbish will be thrown away this Crimble. And a lot of that tonnage is made up of party stuff. Those throw away plastic drink cups can seem a good idea at the time, saving on washing up and all, but in reality they're just adding to a bigger pile of mess.

In efforts not to deflate the party spirit (and to keep good excuses for an xmas shimmy and giggle) we've searched the web and come across Little Cherry, a fab eco-party supplier. Making party season that bit more sustainable, they've got some clever eco-party solutions such as recycled party decorations, biodegradable cups and plates, and balloons that take the same time to naturally decay as oak leaves do. Thinking twice about our throwaways before throwing that festive party seems like a jolly good idea. Santa will be impressed.
