Oxfam facing expulsion from northern Sudan

You may have heard that Oxfam is one of several major aid agencies facing expulsion from northern Sudan following the issue of an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir.

Unfortunately, we can confirm that the Sudanese government has revoked our licence to operate in northern Sudan, but we are appealing against this. Our sole focus in the country is meeting humanitarian and development needs, and this decision will affect hundreds of thousands of lives. We will be stressing the fact that we are an independent, impartial NGO with absolutely no links to the ICC.
