“We disagree with the pope on the role of condoms in fighting HIV. Access to both female and male condoms helps people protect themselves and their partners from disease. Condoms save hundreds of thousands of lives,” said Dr Mohga Kamal-Yanni, health policy adviser.

i just don,t understand that why we talk about use of contraceptives or condoms.why we don’t preach for disciplined sex life as commonly prevailed in middle class society of india. is it not ‘prvention is better than cure.’?
March 22nd, 2009 at 10:48 pmanoop: “Preaching disciplined sex life” has been proved over and over to be ineffective at changing people’s behavior.
You can’t get people to stop having sex, but you can get them to use condoms more when they do have sex.
By doing that, you save many lifes. It’s quite straightforward, really.
