Conflict Voice: Write. Speak. Act. Change
Throughout discussions at the United Nations (UN) on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) ConflictVoice has been shining a light into the murky world of diplomatic discussions.

Oxfam and others have gathered together a group of independent bloggers to meet with diplomats and help engage the wider world with what goes on at the UN. There were many highlights posted on www.conflictvoice.org in the first week and here are a selection. You can also check out the archive.

Jan Egeland, Former UN Under Secretary for Humanitarian Affairs and Director of the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs blogged on why an Arms Treaty is needed.

Rombo Kins from Kenya’s blog on why the Africa and the World needs an Arms Treaty was retweeted by the UK’s Foreign Office among others.

Jen Nedeau from Change.org blogged about the arms trade, women, autonomy and industry.

Janna Oberdorf highlighted that treaties can achieve change, but more needs to happen before we can really address the roots of armed conflict.

Meanwhile Kate Ausburn from Australia surveyed how Twitter and other social media can influence discussions on the Arms Trade Treaty

You can follow what’s happening as the discussions reach a crucial stage on www.conflictvoice.org or on Twitter www.twitter.com/conflictvoice.
