Campaigning rickshaws promote the Wave around London

Splashdances, mini-waves and viral videos… it seems people are going to great lengths to promote the family friendly climate change march happening this coming Saturday, The Wave. Yet In Wheels We Trust take the cake. This rickshaw company has sent out 10 of its carbon neutral rides across London this week to entice people along to the Wave. The rickshaws have information about climate change and Saturday’s event plastered all over them and the cyclists themselves are wanting to chat to people about why it is important to come along.

I have ridden in a rickshaw before. The first time was in Peru and it was taking myself and five very hot, squashed friends to explore some sand dunes. The second was in Dublin where the cyclist took us on a long ride out of town and gave us a detailed history of sheep-dipping. This was both enlightening and boring.

These London rickshaws won’t be hot but they will take people on a climate adventure, and they won’t be dull like sheep dip - although people will find out some good quality information! So forget tuning into Oxfam.org.uk, hail yourself a rickshaw if you want to find out more about climate change and the role The Wave is playing in getting the global deal the world needs at Copenhagen!
