Sam Barratt, Head of Media
Sam has run Oxfam’s Media Unit since 2005. Based in Oxford, the team comprises fifteen members of staff who lead on Oxfam’s international media campaigns on trade, humanitarian disasters, aid and debt as well as a UK PR team for 750 shops and individual appeals.
Sam has worked for Oxfam since 2000, leading on all of Oxfam’s campaigns as well as events such as Oxfam’s response to the tsunami, the WTO meetings in Cancun and the war in Afghanistan. He has travelled and worked widely across the world, working for a year developing Oxfam’s media and campaigns work in east Africa. Prior to working for Oxfam, Sam worked for more than three years in corporate public relations.

Lucy Brinicombe, Senior Press Officer
Lucy Brinicombe is the climate change press officer focussing on the national media in the UK. She has worked for Oxfam for two and a half years. Before working at Oxfam, Lucy was a journalist for six years, working on both regional and national titles.
As climate change press officer, she was at the UN climate negotiations in Poznan, Poland, in December 2008, and also carried out climate work for last year’s G8. She has also worked on Oxfam’s biofuels campaign. Lucy can be contacted for UK and international climate change enquiries.
