2-6 November: UNFCCC Intercessional meeting in Barcelona – Climate Change.
The last official climate negotiations before the Copenhagen Summit in December.  Oxfam is calling on world leaders to stop treating the climate negotiations like trade talks, step up and deliver firm commitments on cutting carbon emissions and money to help poor countries cope with climate change.  People from developing countries affected by climate change will also be available for interview in Barcelona. 6-7 November: G20 Finance Ministers meeting in St Andrews. Highlights include ongoing discussion of currency levy transactions “tobin tax”, tax haven regulation and money to help poor countries cope with climate change. November (date tbc): Helena Christensen Photographic Exhibition on Climate Change. Photographs taken by the model and photographer during a trip to Peru showing the human cost of climate change. London plays host to the photographs after having been exhibited in New York, en route to the UN climate talks in Copenhagen. November (date tbc): Oxfam launches “The Climate Challenge”: an innovative online game aimed at increasing public awareness on the problems and solutions in the climate change debate, featuring celebrities David Tennant (Dr Who), Mackenzie Crook (The Office), Ashley Jensen (Ugly Betty), Gabriel Garcia Bernal (Motorcycle Diaries), and Miranda Richardson (Harry Potter) who answer sets of questions under the control of the online player. 5 December: The Wave SCC Blue March in London and Glasgow. Thousands of people wearing blue will create a human wave as they march in London and Glasgow, calling on the UK government to ensure that the deal at Copenhagen prevents dangerous temperature rises and protects the world’s poorest who are already feeling the effects of climate change. 7 – 18 December: COPENHAGEN 15 Summit on Climate Change.
Oxfam’s forward press briefing will be held on Dec 2 at the Foreign Press Association in Copenhagen, offering a number of high impact photo and filming opportunities, interviews with people affected by climate change from all regions of the world and experts in many different languages.  Our expert story gathering team can help organise trips for journalists working on broadcasts/ stories in the run up to Copenhagen.
