This means that, as well as shopping for their own Christmas dinner, and in spite of the recession, kind-hearted Scots have been making sure that people in crisis-hit countries are also able to get something to eat on Christmas Day.

And with Oxfam shops selling Unwrapped gifts right up until Christmas Eve, there's still time to buy an unforgettable Oxfam Unwrapped Christmas gift for that someone special. You can buy Oxfam Unwrapped gifts in any Oxfam shop or you can get them online at Oxfam Unwrapped

Feeding a family is not the only gift available from Oxfam Unwrapped and, with prices starting at just £5, there are plenty that can make great, affordable Christmas presents. There are goats and cows for animal lovers, reading lessons and schoolbooks for bookworms, or mosquito nets and health checks for budding doctors.

Every gift available from Oxfam Unwrapped is something that the people in the communities where Oxfam works really need, so buying someone school supplies for Christmas can help a child in a developing country get an education, while buying mosquito nets can help prevent malaria, which kills a child in Africa every 30 seconds.

Malcolm Fleming , Oxfam Scotland's Campaigns Manager, said:

"People in Scotland have always been very supportive of Oxfam Unwrapped, and this year our Feed a Family gift seems to have really made a connection with shoppers.

"As a result, families whose lives have been turned upside down during conflicts or natural disasters will be provided with emergency rations such as grain, beans, oil, salt and sugar during Christmas and beyond to keep them going until normality is restored.

"Scarlett Johansson, Ricky Gervais and Minnie Driver have all asked their friends for Oxfam Unwrapped gifts this year so, if you're stuck for ideas, have a Secret Santa gift to get, or want to put something unusual in someone's stocking, I would definitely recommend that you take a look at Oxfam Unwrapped."
