How Tag Your Bag worksFAQs

Step 1 Sign up to Tag Your Bag. To collect Nectar points, enter your card details and you'll collect 100 points. If you've already got a Tag Your Bag account, link your Nectar card to collect 100 points.

Step 2 You'll receive personalised tags in the post. Donate your items to an Oxfam shop making sure your tag is securely on your bag of goods.

Step 3 We track your items and when they sell you'll get 2 Nectar points for every £1 they raise. If they don't sell they'll be recycled or reused - so they'll still help Oxfam fight poverty.

Step 4 You can even donate your points back to Oxfam if you want. Visit nectar.com to spend your points on a range of Oxfam Unwrapped items from safe drinking water to training a teacher.

Step 5 The money your unwanted goods raise, along with the money we collect from Gift Aid will build water pumps, dig vegetable plots, send children to school and give families a better future.

Terms and conditions for Tag Your Bag

If you sign up for Nectar you will receive 100 points when you join Tag Your Bag and 2 points for every £1 your goods are sold for.

By signing up to Tag Your Bag, you are agreeing that you:

  • Are a UK taxpayer and would like Oxfam to treat all donations you make, or have made in the last four years (but no earlier than 1 April 2011), as Gift Aid donations. You must have paid a sufficient amount of UK income tax and/or capital gains tax for each tax year (6 April - 5 April) at least equal to the tax that all the charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs that you donate to will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year. Other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify.
  • understand that Oxfam Activities Limited (OAL) will attempt to sell the goods on your behalf and that 1% of the sale price will be paid to OAL by way of commission. Please note the commission will increase to 3% from 1 April 2016
  • own all items provided for sale and that they were obtained in a legal manner.
  • allow Oxfam to sell the item in whatever manner it decides in order to maximise the value of the sale and to allow Oxfam to dispose of those items which in Oxfam's opinion have no saleable value, and acknowledge that your goods cannot be returned.
  • will be contacted up to twice a year to advise you that your goods have sold and to confirm your consent that the proceeds of the sale can be donated to Oxfam. We will wait until sales reach a minimum level before contacting you.
  • will notify us if you are no longer eligible to Gift Aid your donations. Also let us know if your address changes so that we can continue to claim Gift Aid. If we do not have your current address, your Gift Aid Declaration will no longer be valid.
  • Will also notify us if you email address changes.
  • If you registered your Nectar card you will receive 100 points on registration and two points for every £1 your items sell for, including Gift Aid. If we are not able to sell your items, you will not receive Nectar points for them.
