Oxfam provides a professional stewarding service to some of the UK's biggest music festivals. As one of our stewards, you are part of a large team representing Oxfam to the festival organisers and the public. We provide essential roles on site to ensure the festival runs smoothly and the festival-goers are safe.
Working as a steward can involve being in many interesting situations. Throughout your shifts and in your free time you get a real understanding of how music festivals work. No previous experience is necessary - full training is provided. In addition to being part of some amazing fundraising for Oxfam, there are some great benefits to being at festivals as an Oxfam steward.
In return for your 3 x 8 ¼ hour shifts, you gain access to the festival before the public arrive. You have separate camping, hot showers, phone charging, meal tickets equivalent to your shifts, endless tea & coffee and you will become part of the 5000+ stewarding community. Regular stewards refer to themselves as the 'Oxfamily' and its true, it often feels like a family. You'll meet some brilliant people of all ages and from all walks of life, with a shared interest in music, fun and fundraising for Oxfam, who support and look after each other - it's almost impossible
not to make friends!
Your deposit will secure your place for as many or as few festivals as you do and whether you get involved at massive events like Glastonbury and Bestival, or tiny ones like Nozstock and Bearded Theory, it's great fun and will be a huge experience. People have lots of different reasons for volunteering - watch this film which explores just a few of them.
Festival places are filled on a first come, first served basis, so don't delay - apply today!
