Seven stones

This game needs a ball – usually made from tightly rolled plastic bags - and seven flat stones. Any number of people can play it. The children divide into two equal groups, half who are 'in' and half who are 'out'. Those on the outside form a ring. Those on the inside have to try to build up the seven stones into a pile.

The children in the outer ring have the ball. When they hit anyone inside the ring with the ball, that person has to sit down and play no further part. The team in the outer ring wins if they prevent the other team from building the seven stones. If the members of the team inside the ring can build up the stones without being hit by the ball, then they win. After each round, the teams swap roles.
