Pink carrots in UK supermarkets?
Perhaps not yet.

But next time you go shopping you could look out for all the fruit and vegetables from different countries around the world.

Remember that most of them will be grown by farmers in poor countries – who often do not earn a fair share of the price for producing them.

But Fair Trade is a growing international movement which ensures that producers in poor countries do get a fair deal. This means a fair price for their goods: one that covers the cost of production and guarantees a living income.

Major UK supermarkets now sell a range of Fair Trade goods, including bananas, tea, coffee, cocoa, chocolate etc. Look out for them next time you go shopping!
