Friends forever
I can’t believe the trip is over already; it has gone so fast that it feels quite surreal, almost like a dream. It was wonderful to meet Selina, and to see how the goat I got for Christmas can help families like hers. I am going to write to Selina when I get back to England and send her some of the photos that I took, and I hope that we will always stay in touch. She would like to visit us when she is older, and I would like to go to Africa for my gap year before university. It has always been my ambition to be a vet and to go there to work.
I know what I want for next Christmas! I would like to have another Oxfam Unwrapped present — I want Mum to get me a camel!
Oxfam Unwrapped update
Oxfam Unwrapped is making a big difference to people’s lives, as Eleanor discovered. A huge thanks to all of you who raised money for Oxfam Unwrapped gifts at school. Between October and December 2005, an amazing 400,000 gifts were bought — including over 66,000 goats, 16,000 toilets, and 1,500 months (or 129 years!) of teaching.
