Sometimes, people are unable to have faith in the future. Perhaps
they haven't got a job, or enough money to buy tools and other things
they need to make a living.
Poor people often have a clear idea of how to solve their problems,
they just lack the means to put these into practice.
How does Oxfam help?
We give money, training and support to people until they can carry
on by themselves.
At least a quarter of the world's population lives in severe
poverty.
