Oxfam and the Stars
Lots of stars are happy to help Oxfam in all sorts of ways - from
travelling overseas, to opening a new Oxfam shop or joining a campaign.
Their involvement helps Oxfam attract lots of media interest and
publicity for our work. They reach people who otherwise would not
be interested in what Oxfam does.
Celebrities help us raise money and gain support for Oxfam's campaigns.
They can simplify issues so that people can understand what is happening.
By getting involved themselves they can ask others to get involved
too.
They can also use their fame and influence to put pressure on governments
and international organisations on Oxfam's behalf. Celebrities can
give a voice to people who don't have one.
